I've been running a little series of videos on instagram. Very tongue in cheek - based on observations of what I see people do in the kitchen, or in how they talk about food. Last weekend, I came across a little inspiration, and i'm keen to make a video on that too. Not to tease my friend too much... (although I want to a little - because i've done the same thing) But more so to say: "Hey you, Yes. You. Are you looking at life in a funny way? Is it time to zoom out and look at the bigger picture?" Queue: the bigger picture. Now tell me, what do you see? Did you say a mandarine? Did you say vitamin c? Maybe it's a sweet and sour juicy fruit that comes out during cold seasons to give us energy, support our immunity, and provide some lightness when cold and darker months start to get heavy. Or maybe it's just a mandarine. Either way, the funny thing is how people don't refer to what the thing is, but to one little component within that thing. When I handed this mandarine to my friend last week, he said: "oh, VITAMIN C! thank you!" I had to laugh. Is our thinking becoming to isolated? What we eat gives us so much more than a few vitamins and minerals. They have qualities which can balance our bodies and minds (or throw them off!)
Next time your talking about something food-related, see if there's anywhere you're getting too isolated. Maybe this goes beyond food, too. Have a great start to the week. with love, Kosta Gee PS if 2025 is going to be your year to step into your best health and thrive, let's organise your plan of attack together. Something in humanity broke when we decided there isn’t enough time to do what we love. And up sprang the productivity hacks of doing things simultaneously, as if we were saving time: music and yoga podcasts and running eating and TikTok What is the real benefit? Are we just skimming life through FOMO? Beneath the hunger of all this parallel consumption sits a deeper hunger. (Hold tight.) Luckily, one of my favourite things has started trending again: Doing nothing. Well, not exactly nothing....
Does your lunch make you feel peaceful? Most of us don’t even think of food in that way—yet what we eat, and how, sets the tone for our whole day (and the direction for our week!). From the moment we wake until our heads rest on the pillow, we are bombarded with inputs.Peace becomes something we scavenge for, rather than a natural state. Even when we try to rest, constant stimulation leaves no space to simply be. Like thousands of pebbles falling into a lake, the surface can never find...
Five years ago, I got punched in the balls. By a man my father’s age. Talk about triggering. It was semi-consensual - we were practicing jiu jitsu - I just wasn't expecting a sneaky one in the nuts. Through this rough and tumble with added extras, I was being physically taught that the keys to staying solution-focussed in life were laid out in the book: "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen R. Covey. Wind back a few more years to my corporate engineering days: "7 Habits" had a...
